This course is an encounter in digital techniques that can lead you to expand the possibilities of your creative research.
About the workshop
Julien Dutertre is a visual artist who finds a balance between techniques and concepts. The workshop will be held in part in his studio where you will discover his unique way of working.

Important:
The techniques discovered during the workshop will be for the most part easily reproducible on any computer, as well as in fablabs (present in all cities) or at home at a lower cost.
The machines / techniques / and software are within everyone's reach, easily found and used.

Content of the course:
- Discovery of open source digital creation software ...
(provided during the workshop)
- Introduction to 3D printing in resin and explanation of how to prepare the files
- Creation of cutting and engraving files for laser in wood / plexi / leather...
- Photo-etching in metal from digital files
- Reflections around prototyping

Objectives:
To discover and reflect on the possibilities offered by digital tools and practices. To take autonomy on ideas and digital productions (cnc / laser cutting / 3d printing for lost wax...) and to open the field of possibilities.
The teacher
JULIEN DUTERTRE
​
Julien Dutertre, born in 1985, is currently professor of digital art at the ERG/St Luc in Belgium and creator of a hardware-software prototyping workshop for artists and architects.
​
He studied at the Beaux-Arts de Nice, Villa Arson. His work is nourished by a particular interest in certain aspects and theories of physics as well as for technologies and their evolutions. These Cartesian domains, destined to efficiency, also contain their share of poetry for him. His practice focuses on perfecting the system to sublimate its imperfection. He also worked as an art director in an advertising agency in Paris for 5 years.
His activity is now based in Brussels where he has been living and working for 6 years.
